My lesson that I learned today is "give 'em a day off". My little musicians have been working so hard over the past few months. My goal was to not miss a beat with the new baby's arrival in our lives, and tons of other changes. I didn't want them to fall behind the rest of the class, even there is no such thing as being 'behind' in Suzuki world. You are where you are. This is also not a race, there is no end. What? Is my child going to be the first to play all the violin repertoire there is in the world? That's quite an accomplishment...and then what?
The new goal is to create beautiful music everyday perfecting our craft and be good people while doing it.
Now, if you and your child aren't practicing eveyday or most days, ignore that. It's hogwash.

Just getting started
When I first heard of blogging about 2 or 3 years ago, it was from a colleague who began a new website that included a blog. I thought "who cares what you think?" I still have that question. I have two girlfriends who blog. They are mothers and homeschoolers, so when they have time to do this, I don't know.
Well, I'll see how this goes. If it's fun and helpful to anyone, I'll keep blogging. If people actually want to know what I'm thinking and doing..that's strange, but I'll try almost anything once.
I can field some questions?
